This is a known issue with the pearOS Calculator app - it currently only accepts clicks on the on-screen buttons, keyboard number/operator input doesn't register.
For now, use the on-screen buttons with your mouse/trackpad instead of typing.
This is a tracked bug, not something you can fix on your end - if you'd like, open an issue on the pearOS GitHub so it stays visible.
